Textile trends
Spring summer 2016
Ultra feminine and textured:
- Lace is THE fabric of this season, used as a peek-a-boo lining or a main material, it has been used throughout all collections
- Veils (cotton and others) for transparency and lightweight feel
- Silk and other soft fabrics like VISCOSE that are better adapted to children's wear
- Natural fabrics like LEATHER, imitation leather and suede for mid-season designs
- Detailed fabrics like dotted swiss and printed cotton
- Textured fabrics such as crêpe and seer-sucker are back
& comfort
For children and boys in particular, comfort is always a priority:
- KNITTED JERSEY with detail thread inlays and rich, rustic accenting
- VISCOSE (usually with a cotton blend) comfortable and fluid is becoming more common in children's wear
- DENIM is still a firm favourite with different washing and dying techniques
- Technical materials (like neoprene) are getting more traction thanks to the rise in sportswear and streetwear.
