Everything you need to know to sew underwear
Sewing patterns Belle
It is not because they are hidden that they should be neglected! Against the skin, underwear contributes a lot to well-being and feeling good in its body. Here are 4 reasons to sew them yourself. First of all, you can choose the fabric, the prints, and colors, then they are quick to sew, it is the perfect way to use scraps, (12 inches, 30 cm at most, and two in the width of your fabric for small sizes), and finally, you'll have the satisfaction to wear them (almost) everyday 😉
Belle is a pattern for an underwear set with a thin stripes camisole, briefs, and hipsters, you can adapt and choose between a high and low waist so you can sew four different panties. For the finishing touches, we propose elasticated bias, special lingerie elastic (with picots or lace for example), or ribbing. All these options are presented in the video tutorial. We highly recommend watching it before taking the plunge.
This pattern is available as a PDF or paperback format, from 3 to 12 years for Belle and from 34 to 46 (french sizes), sizes 2 to 16 (US sizes) for Belle Mum. This pattern is for sewists of an intermediate level. A tutorial (in French and English) and a video tutorial are here to guide you step by step.

Supplies
The biggest advantage of Belle is that you can use your fabric scraps (and that's every sewist's goal right?!). To sew this pattern you need expandable fabrics: jersey, openwork knit, or waffle knitted fabric. For the interior gusset, simple jersey cotton will be perfect. You'll need bulked thread for the tin or the main looper of your serger. This foam thread is soft and will be perfect for comfort, the seams of the briefs being in direct contact with the skin. You can use a twin needle for perfect finishes. Finally, you'll find a large selection of elastics and ribbing on our website so you can have fun with the details of your lingerie set.
These fabrics and haberdashery are available on our French website ikatee.fr, however, the shipping costs are the same as on our website in English. Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
