Beautiful details and thorough instructions

It was a joy to sew! By far the best pattern I’d ever bought.

My favorite dress shirt

This pattern hits all the check marks in what I constantly look for in garments. First , I love that it is constructed with French seams. It’s hard to find patterns that include this, I usually have to do the calculations on that myself. French seams are absolutely beautiful and look much nicer than serged edges. Next is all the little details and designs. I’ve only made the short sleeve version since we’re entering warmer days but I just love the collar and the pocket shape and size. Sounds like a minor thing but those little details can really change the appearance of the entire garment. That alongside the little pleat in the back give it such a nice sophisticated look. I love that you can line the yoke and collar with a contrasting fabric. The options of creativity are endless with this pattern. I do intend to make long sleeve shirts for my son closer to fall and the sleeves look a bit complex for that version but the videos provided on ikatee are very helpful for those of us who learn better that way. I’m sure I’ll have no trouble at all when I get there. For those who are adventurous beginners and are nervous about being able to tackle this, the short sleeve version is definitely a good way to challenge yourself. Like the patterns says, you’ll need precision but it’s definitely doable if you’re careful and meticulous. Overall I highly recommend this pattern. You will be very pleased with the results.

Comprehensive instructions and lovely finish

Made two of this shirt for my daughter who likes to wear trousers. One polka dot and one yellow floral (both short sleeve as I’m a beginner). She wears them constantly, the pattern was detailed, and the fit is excellent.
