PDF Sewing Pattern and Guidebook. Unisex loose sweatshirt or dress or nightdress 3-12.

Loose unisex sweatshirt or loose dress or nightdress.Very comfortable loose shape with dropped shoulders.Sweatshirt: hip length, dress: above the knee.In jersey, it becomes a loose tee-shirt or a nightgown. Optional armhole ruffles for girls. Ribbed or stretch material at the bottom of the body, cuffs and collar.
This sewing pattern might be used for boys in its basic shape . 
This pattern is also available as a paper version. See the paper pattern

What you will learn with this pattern: put a ribbing at the neck, cuffs and lower body, assemble ruffles at armholes.

Size range :  3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 years

Fabric recommendations:

  • Terry fabric, Jersey (to get a loose sweatshirt), Cotton or cotton/elastan
  • second fabrics :Rib fabric (for cuffs, collar and bottom band)

FYI,  the main update for the child pattern is an extension of the sweatshirt version in dress; to get the dress length above the knee, you'll just have to extend the lines of PATTERN pieces in front and back of

Great Pattern

Sized well and instructions clear. I made a sweatshirt dress in a plush french terry as well as in a lightweight cotton knit and both fabrics made a beautiful dress. I am now making some sweatshirts!

Very easy quick pattern

I was recommended this pattern and have not been disappointed. I found it a true to size pattern that goes together really simple and easy, very unisex style that I have made for both my son and daughter both very successful makes. Will definitely be trying other patterns.

Color woolie polyester thread or contrasting normal yarn for a tight overcast at the ruffle border (option B) eg © Fujix or ©Madeira Metallic Foam (polyester fully voluminous thread or  woolie polyester thread)

If you want to finish the bottom of the sweatshirt or dress bandless (with a single hem), then lengthen pieces 1 and 2 by 5cm including a seam allowance of 1.7cm. So add 5cm of main fabric needs (fabric 1).
