Rio, the blouse with multiple collars

They were expected, here they are RIO and RIO kids, our two new blouse sewing patterns. With their 18 different collars options, from classic to extravagant, we play with gathers, curves, scallops, and ruffles. This is THE essential pattern, but not so basic, that allows you to have fun while starting from a simple base. You will get very different clothes... with the same pattern! We love it!

  • Unisex pattern
  • Front buttoned blouse
  • Short or long sleeves
  • High-quality finishes (French seams and neckline band)
  • 18 necklines and collars options

This new pattern is available in two size ranges: RIO, from 1 month to 4 years, and RIO kids, from 3 to 12 years. The skill level is easy to intermediate, depending on the collar option chosen. Rio is available in paper or PDF, with the projector file included in the last one. As usual, a video tutorial accompanies the pattern.

Video tutorial

Get ready to sew Rio by watching our video tutorial now (with English subtitles), which will guide you through your project. We have prepared a bonus in this video, to make a rickrack collar identical to ours 🤩

Which fabric for Rio?

The Rio blouse is designed to be sewn in woven fabrics. A wide range can be used, and why not even mix them! We recommend starting with stable fabrics such as poplin, seersucker, or light denim for beginners. Then you can play with textured fabrics like double gauze, corduroy, or viscose linen.

  • Warm season: poplin, gingham, plumetis, chambray, linen, double gauze, broderie anglaise, seersucker, viscose.
  • Cold season: corduroy, soft denim, flannel, fine gabardine.

The bilingual patterns are available on our two websites, ikatee.fr, and ikatee.com but the fabrics and haberdashery are available on our French website ikatee.fr. The shipping costs are the same on both websites. Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.

The beautiful finishes

Rio is the perfect pattern to sew pretty labels: a size label to slip on the back, and a message label on the chest pocket.

It's the big comeback of rickrack, and here we are a fan! Maxi or mini, it is the delicate touch for all your creations. For the baby version, count 1 meter of rickrack, for the child version, count 1 to 2 meters.
