Runs small

I wanted to love this pattern but found the sizing didn't run true to size. I made the next size up for my daughter but it was still too small It would have been great if some finished measurements came with the pattern (or other body measurements) to get an idea of how the pattern might fit.

Looks beautiful

I'm not very experienced at sewing and I have the cheapest Brother LS14s machine - I made this for my 10 year old daughter and it came out beautifully. She chose viscose which I have never sewn and that turned out to be fine. She chose the simplest options without frills, and with shorts and no sleeves. I made a piped neckline for the first time which looked great. The sizing was perfect, we based it on her height which was the pattern for age 9 as she is a little short for her age. When I finished it I tried it on her first before putting in the elastic. For her it was actually better with no elastic - I think this was because of her height and the fact it was shorts - elastic would have meant it sat quite high above her hips and then the crotch would be too short; so we went for a baggier, relaxed look and it's great. You can decide what to do with the elastic waistband at the very end so this is no problem.

You have to check that the printer is printing out to the correct scale - I printed 1 page test sheet (with the 3cm square on) and it was scaled small (I think because the default is US letter size and I have an A4 printer). However if you tell the printer not to scale anything in the print dialog it prints fine and the pattern size was perfect.

I did find 7mm seams quite small and so had to be very accurate to ensure everything stayed together. Am looking forward to making it again, in different fabric with different options etc. Très bon!

Perfect fit
