Oslo blouse review on a guidebook only

I have just purchased the Oslo pattern and went through the guidebook with the explanations. I must say I am quite an experienced sewer and from the first read I have noticed a few things already which definitely need an improvement. The pattern picture on the front page clearly shows the smocked long sleeve cuffs option, however the explanation in the guidebook is really scarce. Basically "Then overstitch at 1/2’’ from edge with an elasticated thread at bobbin (this elasticated thread should be rolled with tension around the bobbin)." No picture, no further explanation on the measurements of the finished smoked sleeve, nothing. The pattern is intended to beginner sewers as well, and I personally think that no beginner sewer would be able to make smocked long sleeve cuffs based on these instructions.
Two other critical points concern the construction of the pattern and sewing instruction themselves. I do wonder why this guidebook suggests first to close the sleeves and only then to insert them into the armholes, whereas the opposite approach - first insert the open sleeves, then close the side and sleeve seams in one go is much simpler and easy to make, especially for tiny baby sizes and beginner sewers.
The other thing I personally don't like about the construction of the Oslo blouse is sew-on buttonhole placket. Once again here it would be much easier to extend the back pieces in the centre and incorporate the buttonhole band into the bodice and yoke pieces.

Hi
You are right, I should update and complete guidebook with this option of smocked sleeve cuff in a later upadte
