Fabric and trims:
- Main fabric: cotton fabric such as gabardine or denim (for parkas or jackets), synthetic fabric like polyamide, thicker or thinner polyester and coated fabric (for waterproof items), or water-repellent fabrics (for lightweight windbreakers or “bomber”-style jackets).
- Lining: (for the hood and pocket bottoms, and optional for the body and sleeves) cotton or viscose poplin, fine synthetic fabric (nylon-style), microfleece, or sherpa. Prefer synthetic materials for the sleeves (with optional wadding for winter).
- Ribbed collar version: ribbing
- 1 separable jacket zipper (open-end or two-way separator for mid-length and long versions): nylon coil, molded plastic, or metal zippers
- 1 elastic 2 cm (¾ in.) wide for cuffs, and optional 3 cm (1⅛ in.) wide for hem on short version
- optional: 1 flat cord for the hood and 1 for the drawstring
- optional: 2 eyelets for the hood and 2 for the drawstring (8 to 10 mm; up to ⅜ in. diameter)
- optional: 2 cord stoppers for the hood and 2 for the waist drawstring
- optional: 2 closed-end zippers (for the sides of mid-length and long versions): length 20 cm; 8 in
- Fine fusible interfacing (width 70 cm / 27'')
