Toronto pinafore

I love this design but unfortunately it came out huge, both in length and width!

The quality of the pattern was great and the instructions (other than the bit around the placket), were clear and easy to follow unlike others I've looked at. I liked the simple style of writing and the fact there were lots of visuals.

I chose the size 42 'mini' style to fit my measurements but in the end had to reduce the length as well as adjusting the straps to be shorter, taking off around 5" in total which brought it to just above the knee. The pinafore once made was wide, voluminous almost and the arm holes (even after the length was adjusted), were still sitting at hip height which felt a little low. The pockets are also quite low - I couldn't actually reach them originally! I feel these could have been positioned and stitched into place at the end rather than right at the beginning. This would have allowed for better placement.

All in all, I enjoyed making the pinafore so plan to make another, maybe in linen or corduroy for the winter but will look at using one of the smaller sizes instead and adjust the panels if needed.

Excellent pattern

This pattern is high-quality for understanding the instructions. Every step is pictured and labeled. Already planning my 2nd project with it and also recommending it to a friend
