Brooklyn Baby Flight Suit

I had a little trouble with the instructions but the pattern sewed up beautifully using woven cotton. The optional collar, pockets, and elastic waist provided the perfect template to make a mini flight suit.

Very happy

I'd never used a PDF sewing pattern before, the instructions were very clear (although my printer printed the pattern slightly differently each time I printed it). The guidebook is very well-written and the video tutorial is absolutely excellent. I thoroughly recommend

Excellent boiler suit pattern!

First, let me say I learn so much with this pattern. I’m a fairly experienced sore, but have never used snap tape or a collar so I thought making a baby suit will be the best way to do that. My grandson looks adorable like he could be working on the Railroad, I had no issues with the instructions in the pattern fit wonderfully. My only complaint would be the US does not use the metric system, and I spent a lot of time converting millimeters to inches.

Enjoyed this sewing project

The printed PDF was easy to assemble. The 2T sewed up true to size. I was very pleased about that because I have made other toddler outfits from other companies and this is not always the case. There seems to be plenty of room for a diaper- even a cloth one with a cushy cover. The pattern allows for many style options, all of which are simple additions to the basic pattern. I made my first one from a light-weight terry knit but I am certain that woven fabric would work just as well. The written directions are easy to follow for the most part. There are a few complex steps that might challenge a beginner however the video tutorial should solve that.

Fabric and trims:

Age 6M 12M 18M 24M 3Y 4Y
Height en cm 67 74 81 86 98 104
Fabric in 140cm basic version 70 80 85 95 120 125

+ collar, ruffles, casing, inseam opening

85 100 110 115 135 145
Buttons 11mm front opening 5 5 5 5 5 5
inseam opening 7 7 7 9 9 11
  • buttons 11mm wide (front butonning and inseam opening)
  • thin fusible interfacing
  • optional: 1m of string for the casing
Fabric consumption can be reduced if you cut some pieces (inside yoke, neckline band, pocket facing, lower collar) into a lining fabric.
