Back to school is coming real quick and with it, the colder seasons... and the sewing projects that go with them! The Sam sewing pattern is a must-have for our children's fall wardrobe. This unisex jacket or parka pattern is available for babies and kids. Available in two lengths, short jacket or parka, the Sam pattern is versatile: pointed or round collar, hood, different opening options (buttons or invisible zipper), pockets (breast pocket, round), and various finishes (lined or with facing). As a trendy short jacket, it will appeal to the most fashionable little girls. As a parka or corduroy jacket, Sam will be perfect to cross the playground at full speed, or go on an adventure!
As a jacket in a light denim for the Indian summer, in oilcloth for a waterproof version, or a quilted fabric for a warmer winter version, you will surely find an option that will please you.

Sewing tips
Sam is a pattern for sewists with an intermediate sewing level. The video tutorial is here to walk you through each step. This pattern is available for babies from 6 months to 4 years and for children from 3 to 12 years. You can find it in a paper printed or PDF version.
For this pattern, use a warm fabric: denim, corduroy, wool, sherpa, oilcloth, or thick linen. For the lining, follow your imagination: a pretty poplin with a print or a soft sherpa in which we would like to wrap ourselves!
Don't forget some interfacing, matching sewing thread, a separable zip or pretty buttons to highlight the placket, a little cord and two eyelets for the hood. As for the finishing touches, you can add two tags, one for the size, and the other to add a sweet note to your realization!
