🏃 Ready, set, go! Our sport and outfit sewing patterns
Has the whole family decided to take up sports this year? We have a tip to help you stick with it: sew sportswear that you love and are proud of! It's a good start to motivate the troops, isn't it? So here's a small selection of comfortable sportswear sewing patterns available from ikatee. Let's get started!
The must-have leggings
Seattle pattern, short version in jersey
Leggings are a basic garment for sport and the good news is that they are very easy to sew. For women and children, you can use the Seattle pattern. Available from 3 to 12 years old or from 32 to 52 (french sizes), this pattern offers 2 shapes of trousers: leggings (tight) or jeggings (close to the body). Each of the two shapes is available in 3 lengths: long, 3/4, or short.

For dynamics babies, you'll find the Lima sewing pattern in the At Home book or e-book, available from 6 months to 4 years. Lima is a comfortable legging, perfect for starting to explore the world... and use your jersey scraps!
You rather like jogging pants?
`For those who prefer straight-fit pants, 2 options are available. For kids, you can use Jim pattern, from 3 to 12 years old. For athletic babies, you can have a look at New York sewing patterns from 1 month to 4 years old. Those 2 pants have a straight cut, tightened at the bottom. We particularly like the kangaroo pocket and drawstring waist options of New York which give a very sporty look to the pattern. Once again, these 2 patterns are perfect to beginners.

For comfortable and sport-friendly versions, we recommend the following materials: sweatshirt, French Terry, waffle knit, or terry cloth.
Sweatshirts and zip-up jackets
Vancouver with shoulder bands option and long large sleeves in French Terry
Let's talk about Vancouver first. If you don't know this pattern yet, Vancouver is a loose-fitting, short sweatshirt with very sportswear options: hood with drawstring, zip opening or sweatshirt, with or without sleeves. The loose fit gives you total freedom of movement. Vancouver is available from 3 to 12 years old and from 32 to 52.

As for the sports jacket, we recommend Jules. It's a unisex bomber that will give a very professional look to the kids' sportswear. You can have fun with the ribbing or the labels and patches. This pattern is available from 3 to 12 years old.

Confortables Tee-shirts
The last piece of sportswear is the T-shirt. There are two unisex models available: Marcel for children aged 3 to 12 and Tokyo for babies aged 6 months to 4 years. Both models have a straight cut as well as long and short sleeves options. These are essential patterns for all seasons.
